How to start playing

Neonesis is free: you never pay to play on the server. The game is all you buy; then five steps and a couple of minutes.

  1. Step 01

    Buy Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty

    This is the only purchase: Neonesis itself is free. The server works with the Steam version of the game, with the Phantom Liberty expansion: without it Dogtown and some cars stay closed.

    • The game and the expansion must be on the Steam account you sign in with.

  2. Step 02

    Get the Neonesis launcher

    The launcher gets the game ready for the server, keeps everything up to date and starts the game with one button.

  3. Step 03

    Sign in with Steam

    Open neonesis-launcher.exe and sign in with Steam: no new passwords, no registration. One Steam account: one server account.

  4. Step 04

    Install

    The launcher finds the game in your Steam library and gets it ready for the server with one button. It installs updates by itself too.

  5. Step 05

    Play

    Press «Play», make a character in the game's editor and walk out onto Corpo Plaza. Find Rita: she has your phone and your first quest. Beginner guides are in the wiki.

FAQ

How much does it cost to play on the server?
Nothing: Neonesis is free. You only buy the game itself, Cyberpunk 2077 with the Phantom Liberty expansion.
Do I need a licensed copy?
Yes. Sign-in is through Steam, and the account must own Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Liberty.
What about GOG or Epic Games?
Not yet: the server checks the game through Steam.
Where do I start in the city?
Do the starter quests: a phone from Rita, the bank, a first job, street food and your first ride. They pay rewards, and by the end you'll know your way around.
How do I get a job?
At the job centre in Downtown, near the bank. It also shows which job opens at which level.
Can I change my look?
Yes, at any of the five barbershops for 500 €$: the game's appearance editor opens.
Something broke. What now?
Press F3 in game and create a report: staff will answer. You can also post on the forum.
